Tim is a experienced pastor who has served churches in the state of Missouri prior to coming to New Life. Natives of the Carolinas, Tim and has wife Rachel moved to St. Louis to attend Covenant Theological Seminary and ended up staying there for 19 years. Along the way Tim got two degrees, they were blessed with two daughters (and a cat), and he served as a pastor in three churches and as a church history professor at Covenant Theological Seminary. Tim has a BS in Chemical Engineering from NC State, a Master of Divinity from Covenant, and a PhD in Historical Theology from Saint Louis University. In addition to pastoring and professoring, Tim is a leader in our denomination, having most recently served as the chair of the PCA General Assembly Committee on Abuse. He is a published author, contributing to a translation of Bonaventure’s Commentary on the Sentences and a chapter of Heal Us, Emmanuel, a book about race and the gospel written by PCA leaders. He serves on the editorial board of the website Semper Ref, where you can read his work, and you can also read his work on the Theopolis Institute, Mere Orthodoxy, and ByFaith, as well as his own website.
